Methodology

How the screener counts

Every number on Blackroom Screener comes from free public sources. This page lists what we track, defines each metric, gives the exact Blackroom Heat formula with today's numbers worked through, and says where our figures differ from other dashboards and why.

Daily data for Oct 8 UTC.. Updated daily from DefiLlama and growthepie.

What we track

Five chains, 10 launchpads and 13 trading terminals and bots. Anything outside these lists is not counted anywhere on the screener, including Heat. Volume on other chains is dropped, even for a tracked entity.

Adding an entity means checking it against DefiLlama first: which days it reports, on which chains, and whether it reports volume, fees or both. Page addresses never change once published.

Definitions

Launchpad volume
Volume here is bonding-curve trading on each launchpad before graduation. Trading after graduation on other DEXs is not counted. Each launchpad's figure is DefiLlama's daily volume for it on the five tracked chains.
Terminal volume
Daily trading volume DefiLlama attributes to each trading app or Telegram bot, on the five tracked chains.
Fees
Daily fees paid by users, as reported by DefiLlama. Launchpad fees and terminal fees are the same measure on each board.
Fee rate
Fees divided by volume over the same window. Shown only where both cover the same chains.
Chain DEX volume
Daily DEX volume on the chain, as reported by DefiLlama. This is all DEX trading on the chain, not only memecoins.
Chain fees
Daily transaction fees paid on the chain, as reported by DefiLlama.
Transactions and active addresses
Daily transactions and active addresses from growthepie. Covers Base, Ethereum and Robinhood Chain only. Weekly and monthly views average the days instead of adding them.
Share
An entity's volume (or fees) divided by the total of every tracked entity on the same board, window and chain filter. StonkFun and BONK.fun are left out of totals and shares because their trades are already counted under another launchpad.
Windows
1D is the last complete UTC day. 7D and 30D are trailing windows that end on that day. All starts on the first day the source reported.
Change
A window against the window of the same length right before it, in percent. It is left blank when either window is missing more than one day of data, when the earlier window is zero, and for All.
Biggest share moves
Share of volume over the last 7 days minus share over the 7 days before, in percentage points. The top 3 up and down are shown when they moved 1 point or more.
Weekly and monthly views
Weeks start on Monday and months on the 1st, both in UTC. A week or month still in progress is never drawn. A period cut short by the start of the data is marked partial.
Missing days
A day the source has not reported is a gap, never a zero. Gaps break lines and read n/a in tables.
Trending tokens
GeckoTerminal's trending pools on each chain, in its order. We drop wrapped SOL, ETH, BNB and BTC and stablecoins (protocol tokens stay in), keep one pool per token, drop pools under $5,000 of liquidity and drop any token without a real icon. Market cap is shown where GeckoTerminal reports it; otherwise fully diluted value, labeled FDV.
Token flags
New: the pool is under 24 hours old. Thin liquidity: pool liquidity under $20,000, or under $1,000,000 and below 2% of market cap (the ratio compares one pool with the whole market cap, so deep pools are never flagged). Sell heavy: more than 1.5 sells per buy over 24 hours. Flags are labels, not verdicts.

Why our numbers differ from other dashboards

Launchpad volume is bonding-curve volume

A launchpad's volume here is trading on its own bonding curve before graduation. Trading after a token graduates to an AMM is not counted, because no launchpad other than pump.fun has post-graduation volume that can be separated out. That keeps every launchpad on the same basis.

On Oct 8, 2026, pump.fun's bonding-curve volume was $158.8M. PumpSwap, the AMM where graduated pump.fun tokens trade, did $364.6M the same day. PumpSwap is shown as its own line on the pump.fun page and is not in launchpad totals or Heat.

Trackers that count every DEX trade of pump.fun tokens read higher still. For Oct 6, 2026, curve volume plus PumpSwap came to $488M here, while one such tracker showed $688M for pump.fun tokens.

Chain DEX volume is DefiLlama's figure

We take each chain's DEX volume from DefiLlama as published and do not adjust it. Trackers that read chain data directly count more venues and routes. For Oct 6, 2026, DefiLlama had Solana at $2.05B while one such tracker showed $4.27B; Base was $1.01B against $1.16B, and Robinhood Chain $939M against $817M.

Terminal and launchpad volume overlap

Terminal volume is what DefiLlama attributes to each app or bot. A trade placed through a terminal on a launchpad's curve counts in both, so never add the two boards together.

Double counting is left out

DefiLlama marks a protocol as double counted when another one it tracks reports the same trades. StonkFun runs on LaunchLab curves. We follow DefiLlama: a launchpad whose trades another tracked launchpad already reports keeps its own page but is left out of totals, shares and Heat. BaseStonk (flagged for Uniswap v4) stays in, because no tracked launchpad reports the same trades.

Days are UTC, and the current day is left out

Every day runs 00:00 to 24:00 UTC. The day in progress is always dropped because it is partial. Dashboards on local time or rolling 24 hours will not match day by day.

Sources revise past days

DefiLlama adapters sometimes report a day late or correct earlier days. We rebuild from source each time, so past values here move when theirs do, Heat history included.

The newest chain day can still be filling in

DefiLlama fills a chain's day protocol by protocol, so its newest point can sit far below the final figure for hours. A chain's newest day shows as not reported while it reads under 85% of DefiLlama's own rolling 24-hour total for it, or under 0.2 times the median of the 7 days before. Chain 1D, 7D and 30D figures are left blank rather than summed over fewer days.

Blackroom Heat

Blackroom Heat is one number from 0 to 100 for how busy the memecoin trenches were on a UTC day. It ranks four daily totals against their own history, so it tells you how a day compares with recent months. It says nothing about whether any token goes up.

Inputs and weights (formula heat-v2)
InputDaily total ofWeight

Launchpad feesFees on every tracked launchpad, StonkFun and BONK.fun excluded15%
Terminal volumeVolume through every tracked terminal and bot30%
Terminal feesFees on every tracked terminal and bot20%

All four are summed on the five tracked chains only.

1. Coverage

A day's total for an input only counts when the entities that reported that day make up at least 90% of the input's total over the 30 days before. If a large adapter has not reported yet, the day is left blank instead of reading as a crash. If DefiLlama does not answer for an entity at all, its share of the input (reviewed from the last 30 days) decides: under 10%, the input is scored without it and the page says so; above that, the input is unscored until it answers.

2. Percentile

pct(v, W) = 100 × (count(x < v) + 0.5 × (count(x = v) − 1)) / (|W| − 1)

W holds every reported daily total in the window, the day being scored included. The lowest day in the window scores 0 and the highest scores 100. Tied days share the middle rank.

3. Two windows, blended, on comparable days

p90 ranks the day against the trailing 90 calendar days and p365 against the trailing 365. A past day only enters those windows when it was measured on the same entities. Each entity's size on a day is its average reported value over the 30 days ending that day. A past day counts when the entities reporting on both days hold at least 90% of the size of today's reporters, and at least 90% of the size of that day's reporters. DefiLlama adds adapters over time; without this rule, today's total would be ranked against days that were missing a large app, and read high.

  • Launchpad volume ranks Oct 8 against 65 comparable days since Aug 5, 2026 (65 in the last 90).
  • Launchpad fees ranks Oct 8 against 66 comparable days since Aug 4, 2026 (66 in the last 90).
  • Terminal volume ranks Oct 8 against 126 comparable days since May 28, 2026 (82 in the last 90).
  • Terminal fees ranks Oct 8 against 365 comparable days since Oct 9, 2025 (90 in the last 90).

An input needs at least 30 comparable days in its 90-day window to be scored. Once the 365-day window holds 90 or more:

blended = 0.6 × p90 + 0.4 × p365

Before that, blended equals p90.

4. Raw score

raw = Σ (weight × blended) / Σ weight

Both sums run over the scored inputs only. At least 3 of the 4 inputs must be scored, or the day has no score. With 3 inputs the weights are divided by their sum so they still add to 1. Each input's points are its share of raw: weight divided by the sum of scored weights, times blended.

5. Cooldown

raw ≥ s(prev): s = raw raw < s(prev): s = raw + 0.6 × (s(prev) − raw)

With no score in the 3 days before, s = raw. A rise counts the same day. A fall closes 40% of the gap to raw each day, so one quiet day does not drop the score all at once. s(prev) is the last scored day within 3 days; after a longer gap, cooldown starts over. s is carried unrounded from day to day. Only the published score is rounded.

6. Score and bands

score = round(s), limited to 0 through 100

Why it moved

The sentence under the dial names the input whose points changed most since the previous scored day, with its 90-day percentile and the points it added or took off, then the points cooldown held. Both days are weighted the same way (today's scored inputs), so a change in points is always a change in rank. When an input drops out or comes back, the sentence says so instead of crediting the others with its weight. It is built from fixed templates and uses no adjectives beyond the band names.

History is recomputed from source data on every rebuild, so a past score can move when DefiLlama backfills or corrects a day.

  1. Blend each percentile. 0.6 times the 90-day percentile plus 0.4 times the 365-day percentile.

    Launchpad volume: 50.00 (90-day only) Launchpad fees: 35.38 (90-day only) Terminal volume: 0.6 × 40.74 + 0.4 × 61.60 = 49.08 Terminal fees: 0.6 × 33.71 + 0.4 × 74.73 = 50.11
  2. Weight the blended values into points. All four inputs are scored, so the weights sum to 1.

    Launchpad volume: 0.35 / 1.00 × 50.00 = 17.50 Launchpad fees: 0.15 / 1.00 × 35.38 = 5.31 Terminal volume: 0.30 / 1.00 × 49.08 = 14.73 Terminal fees: 0.20 / 1.00 × 50.11 = 10.02
  3. Add the points to get raw.

    raw = 17.50 + 5.31 + 14.73 + 10.02 = 47.56
  4. Apply cooldown. The previous score (Oct 7) was 65.60 before rounding, above raw, so the score keeps 0.6 of the gap.

    s = 47.56 + 0.6 × (65.60 − 47.56) = 58.38
  5. Round and read the band.

    score = round(58.38) = 58
58Steady (40 to 59), Oct 8 UTC

Launchpad volume fell to its 50th percentile of the last 90 days, taking 3.1 points off. Cooldown held 10.8 points.

Update schedule

  • Daily figures are rebuilt from DefiLlama at most once an hour and from growthepie at most once every 6 hours. Each source address is fetched once per refresh and every visitor sees that copy, so traffic never adds calls to the sources.
  • The newest day shown is the latest UTC day on which launchpads and terminals covering at least 90% of their recent volume and of their recent fees have reported, and on which launchpad and terminal volume are at least 0.2 times the median of the 30 days before. DefiLlama usually completes a day some hours after 00:00 UTC. Until then the screener keeps showing the previous complete day. A day above 5 times that median is published with a note, because real spikes that size happen.
  • Late data: when the newest complete day is 3 or more days old, every page says so in a banner and keeps its as-of date.
  • When DefiLlama does not answer (rate limits, server errors, timeouts), a page keeps its last complete version instead of publishing a partial one, and tries again on the next visit. If a launchpad or terminal call still fails, its board is held back rather than shown without it, because every total, share and rank would be wrong, and the page names what is missing.
  • Trending tokens and narratives refresh every 5 minutes. Launchpad pool tables refresh every 15 minutes.
  • All days are UTC.

Known gaps

  • Launch counts. How many tokens each launchpad creates per day is not tracked yet.
  • Activity on Solana and BNB Chain. growthepie covers Base, Ethereum and Robinhood Chain only, so transactions and active addresses for Solana and BNB Chain are not shown. Their chain pages leave the card out rather than show empty values.
  • Fees only. BONK.fun, clanker and Maestro report fees but no volume in DefiLlama, so they appear in fee figures only.
  • No live pool table. Flap, clanker and BaseStonk have no GeckoTerminal DEX id we can map, so their pages show daily figures without live pools.
  • StonkFun. DefiLlama marks StonkFun as double counted: its curves are LaunchLab curves, and LaunchLab already reports the same trades and fees.
  • BONK.fun. BONK.fun trades settle on Raydium LaunchLab, so its volume is counted under LaunchLab.
  • fomo. fomo volume in DefiLlama covers Solana only; its fees cover every chain.
  • BullX. BullX fees in DefiLlama are a tiny fraction of its volume, so the fee rate is hidden.
  • Banana Gun. Banana Gun fees in DefiLlama are a tiny fraction of its volume, so the fee rate is hidden.
  • Coverage. A launchpad, terminal or bot that DefiLlama does not track is missing from every total here.
  • Who is buying. The screener shows aggregate volume and public trending. It has no wallet-level data.

Changelog

Any change to the Heat formula gets a new id and a line here, and the whole history is recomputed with the new version. The current formula is heat-v2.

  • heat-v2Oct 8, 2026Comparability: a past day enters an input's percentile windows only when it was measured on the same entities (shared reporters hold at least 90% of both days' size), so a large adapter DefiLlama added recently starts a new history instead of making today look high. An input that loses an entity to a failed call stays scored when the entity held under 10% of it. Day-over-day points compare both days on today's weights. StonkFun is left out of launchpad inputs, because DefiLlama already counts its trades under LaunchLab. History was recomputed: at the switch, Oct 6, 2026 went from 80 (Overheated) under heat-v1 to 74 (Hot).
  • heat-v1Oct 7, 2026First published version. Weights 0.35, 0.15, 0.30, 0.20; blend 0.6 and 0.4; cooldown 0.6; bands at 20, 40, 60 and 80.
